NJC: Employers’ Offer & Joint Union Response

The Local Government Association has made an increased pay offer for staff on NJC pay and conditions. Please find below a copy of a letter from the employers and the response from the NJC joint unions.

You will note that we have not accepted that this is the employers’ final offer, as a number of areas remain unresolved. We have asked the employers to write jointly with us to the government to seek additional funds for an improved offer and also called for a further negotiating meeting.

Further updates will follow as the situation unfolds.  Any queries please contact Abby Kimantas on email a.kimantas@unison.co.uk OR James Bull on email j.bull2@unison.co.uk

Calling all environmental health officers

UNISON Local Government is seeking members who work as environmental health officers or practitioners to put themselves forward for a UNISON contact list. The purpose is so that UNISON Centre can consult on issues and policy in all disciplines of environmental health work. Also, from time to time, we get requests from organisations and the press for our environmental health members to give interviews. UNISON is interested in contacting members who would also like to talk about their work. Members working in environmental health have a crucial role to play in dealing with Covid-19, and it should be recognised.

If you are interested in putting yourself forward, please contact Paul Bell at p.bell@unison.co.uk
