Starting salary: £29,766.00 (pro rata)+ access to UNISON Pension Scheme

21.6 hours per week (job share – Wednesday to Friday)

Haringey UNISON branch is a dynamic, progressive branch, committed to equality. Members of the branch are people working in Local Government, schools and colleges and for private contractors providing public services.

The post will provide key administrative support to the branch office and lay member committees. You must have a good knowledge of general office practice and procedures, finance and data systems & procedures and committee administration.

Duties include being the main point of contact between members and the branch, inputting and extracting data from membership and other data systems, processing financial data and invoices, agenda and committee administration.

You must also have good telephone and interpersonal communication skills and be able to deal with members issues in a sensitive and positive manner.

It goes without saying that you will need excellent administrative, secretarial, communication and ICT skills to succeed, in addition to having the confidence to work on your own initiative, and as part of a team.

An understanding of trade unions and their objectives would be an advantage.
